Bending Process
Beyond flooring on the ground, wood flooring can be used flexibly to suit interior styles—stairs, door wrapping, beam and column cladding, skirting, and wall panels. Most of these creative applications rely on wood-flooring bending techniques.
We typically use two bending methods: veneer softening bend / hard-joint bend
Veneer softening bend

Join both sides flush and bond Refine and finish the veneer seam
Veneer softening creates a slight natural radius at the bend, so it is less suitable when a sharp right angle is required. Hard-joint bending can achieve a true 90° corner; if a radius is needed, chamfering can be applied after bending.

Common wood-flooring edge systems are mainly used on platforms and stairs; different edge details create distinctly different visual effects.
Full-wrap stair solution

The full-wrap stair solution mainly uses 90° bent flooring. First level the structure with plywood on the base, then install the flooring on the plywood.
Stair folded-flooring installation

This installation uses a 180° flooring bend process. First level with plywood on the base, then install the flooring on the plywood.
90° parallel edging
Side view
90° parallel bent edging is typically used for bay-window platforms or custom skirting. Using the same flooring style for floor and skirting creates a strong sense of visual order.
